Creating Powerful Presentations with Nancy Duarte
Wednesday, 25 June 2008 18:01

Nancy DuarteThis February I went to the VizThink Conference in San Francisco where I was fortunate enough to attend many informative sessions by insanely talented facilitators. One inspiring presentation was conducted by brilliant storyteller Nancy Duarte of Duarte Design in the Silicon Valley. Masters of their craft, Duarte Design owns a body of work and client list that any full service agency would be envious of, but they specialize in PowerPoint and Keynote presentations. Nancy's firm assisted to construct Al Gore's saga 'Inconvenient Truth'. You may have heard of Mr. Gore, a vanguard of the green movement, Oscar Winner, Nobel Peace Prize Recipient and a politician in his spare time

Nancy reached out to the VizThink community to help reshape presenters' perception of what an effective presentation is in her webinar ' Creating Powerful Presentations.'

Creating Powerful Presentations with Nancy Duarte

slideology.jpgThe next logical step, of course, is to pen a book on the culture of communications. Aptly titled, 'slide:ology: The Art and Science of Creating Great Presentations', her goal is to define a visual language with all of the basic constructs including a taxonomy and grammar for the community. This isn't a typical 'how-to' or PowerPoint manual, no way, this is a lesson in the presentation ecosystem as a whole. Buy it today for a better presentation tomorrow.
