Presentation 2.0
Thursday, 05 June 2008 00:00

280 NorthRich web applications are flooding the market--so remember to bring your rain boots.  We recently introduced you to another snazzy presentation authoring tool that allows you to create polished communication devices.  Now there's a new kid on the block.  SlideRocket's little brother—I think not?  Make no mistake, 280Slides doesn't play second fiddle to no one.  Today, 280North introduced 280Slides (beta), a light weight alternative to desktop applications like PowerPoint and Keynote that runs directly on your web browser.

280slides.pngI'm impressed with the Mac-like interface, they spare no expense in their design.  It's comparable to building a presentation in Apple's Keynote in terms of look 'n feel.  Although, this application is seriosly deficient with many of the features in business-class production suites, it still packs a punch and will send ripples in the presentation community.   Remember, it's early in their development cycle but I look forward to their product roadmap.  On the other hand, 280Slides offers some useful tools for the Web 2.0 addict in you.  For example, you can upload content from Flickr or YouTube then shoot it off to SlideShare when your finished.  280Slides offers a a free test drive, so check it out and let us know what you think.
